The Dancing Queen Lotus is a variety introduced from Japan. In 1966, Japanese lotus expert Sakamoto Yuji developed it through crossbreeding the American Yellow Lotus and the Japanese “Dahe Lotus”.
The Dancing Queen Lotus is a standout among large lotus flowers, featuring large, multicolored, few-petaled blossoms, truly the crown jewel among flowers.
Its petals are exceptionally large and its posture is free and elegant, resembling a dancing queen, hence the name “Dancing Queen Lotus”. It is suitable for pond cultivation and pairs particularly well with other aquatic plants.
The blossoms of ornamental lotus flowers are generally large, with the diameter of large lotus flowers often being 20cm.
The Dancing Queen Lotus, however, is a standout among large lotus flowers, with the diameter of its largest blossoms reaching over 35cm. Its flowers and leaves are enormous, and its flower shape resembles a fluttering butterfly, truly the crown jewel among flowers.
The flower bud is long and peach-shaped, pink in color. Its blossoms are multicolored, with the tips of the petals being red, the middle being light green, and the base being yellow.
The diameter of the flower is 24-28cm, and it blooms profusely. The petals of this variety are long, and when in full bloom, they flutter in the wind, making it exceptionally beautiful.
